# Answer User Query

> Sends a direct answer to the user from the current task context without pausing or completing the task.

Sends a direct answer to the user from the current task context without pausing or completing the task. Display name **"Answer User Query"**. On by default for new agents.

Unlike `ask_user`, this does **not** pause. Unlike `task_complete`, this does **not** end the task. Call it at most once per user question.

## Authentication and enablement

No integration. Default-on.

## Inputs

* `question` (required): the user's question, restated faithfully.
* `response` (required): the full answer shown to the user.
* `context_summary` (optional): which prior steps/documents the answer used. Not shown to the user.

## Output

The answer is written to the task feed. Execution continues.

## Limits and side effects

* Feed-only. No external calls.
* A second call for the same unanswered question is wasted — complete the task or `ask_user` instead.

## Expected errors

* Empty `question` or `response`.
