# SAP Read GL Accounts

> Reads G/L account master data in a chart of accounts, optionally narrowed to specific accounts, with account type and the name in the configured language.

Reads G/L account master data from `API_GLACCOUNTINCHARTOFACCOUNTS_SRV` (`A_GLAccountInChartOfAccounts`, expanding `to_Text`). Display name **"SAP Read GL Accounts"**. Off by default.

## Authentication and enablement

Requires a workspace SAP integration. `base_url`, `authorization`, `sap_client` and the OData path are injected from the connection. Enable the tool and bind the integration.

## Language

`language` is a configured-tool binding (not an LLM argument), defaulting to **EN**. The tool selects the matching entry from the expanded `to_Text` for the displayed name/description, falling back to the first available language.

## Inputs

* `chart_of_accounts` (required) — e.g. `YCOA`.
* `gl_accounts` (optional) — list of specific account numbers; omit to list accounts in the chart.
* `max_results` (optional) — default 100, capped at 100; a capped read adds a truncation note so "not in the list" is not read as "does not exist".

The structured result can be stored as a task variable (`store_result_as_variable`, a configured-tool binding, on by default) so an agent can pass it to the next tool as `${VAR_N}` instead of re-typing rows.

## Output

`structuredContent.accounts` is a compact summary (`gl_account`, `name`, `gl_account_type`, `chart_of_accounts`); `structuredContent.data` is the full OData response. `IsError` is set on any failure.

## Validation Status

Provisional — verified live against the s4h-2022 test system (2026-10-13). Not yet validated against a customer production connection.

## Errors

Missing integration, an empty `chart_of_accounts`, or an SAP error (e.g. the service not activated) return `IsError: true` with the SAP message.
