slack_send_bot_message when you have a human name (engineering, #general) instead of a channel ID.
Authentication and enablement
Requires a workspace Slack integration (mcp:slack). The bot token is injected. Enable the tool and bind Slack. Only public, non-archived channels are searched.
Inputs
channel_name(required): exact, partial, or misspelled name. A leading#and spaces are stripped.
Output
The single best match plus a few close alternatives.Limits and side effects
- Read-only. Does not join or create channels.
